Currently performing on a major world tour Aroa Fernández and Makarines come to Houston direct from Spain for a one-time-only event. Through live demonstrations, discussion, and performance, attendees will gain insight into how today's artists honor flamenco tradition while embracing new musical languages, including electronics, looping, and contemporary production.

About the Artists

Aroa Fernández is a cantaora, composer, and stage creator from Madrid whose work bridges flamenco, soul, and electronic music. She has collaborated with Rosalía, Estrella Morente, Dellafuente, Judeline, La Plazuela, Juancho Márquez, Jorge Pardo, Josemi Carmona, and Marina Heredia. Her voice has been featured at the Goya Awards, Latin Grammys, and the international tribute to Paco de Lucía in New York. She has also performed at iconic flamenco venues including Corral de la Morería and Casa Patas. Her innovative project FLAMENLOOP combines flamenco compás, live looping, layered vocals, and electronic textures into a contemporary artistic experience.

Makarines are brothers José and Maka, born in Seville and raised in the historic flamenco culture of Triana. They have worked with Rosalía and shared stages with Diego Carrasco, Diego del Morao, La Tana, María Jiménez, Chiquetete, and Radio Makandé. They have performed at prestigious festivals and theaters throughout Spain and France, and their current work explores the intersection of traditional flamenco and contemporary fusion.

This intimate session is designed for musicians, singers, dancers, flamenco enthusiasts, and anyone interested in the future of one of the world's most influential musical traditions.

One weekend only. Limited seating.
